The lighthouse was constructed Founded in 1890 on the homonymous cape, with a focal height of 70 meters and comprising a cylindrical tower 15 meters high and a house for lighthouse personnel. It was destroyed in the 1950 earthquake  and from 1985 onwards, it is operated electrically with distinctive white flare at 10 and 24 nm luminescence.
