Kastri

Brief Description

With a focal height of 13.4 meters and anchored at Cape Kastri, it  is the first lighthouse that greets the traveler coming from the north to the Ionian Sea. It consists of a 10 meters cylindrical tower  and houses  the lighthouse personnel. First opened in 1872, it remained closed during the Second World War when it suffered many damages. Since 1984, it is powered with a white flare characteristic luminescence at 10 and 21 nm It is noteworthy that it is the only manned lighthouse in the Ionian islands.
