Fiscardo, one of the most famous Greek villages worlwide,  is located on the northern tip of Kefalonia in a very beautiful area . The picturesque harbou,r surrounded by  old Venetian style  two-storey houses, bright blue waters and green slopes, looks like a small painting. History tells us that Fiscardo was named after  the Norman conqueror Robert Guiscard, lord of Calabria and Puglia in southern Italy, who, despite  defeating the Venetians and Byzantines did not managed to occupy the island.
In summer the harbour is a refuge for  sailing boats and large yachts.
