Vidos island with an area of 640 acres is located one mile from the town of Corfu. It was an impregnable fortress against the British occupation that was later blown up when the Ionian Islands united with the mainland Greece.
On the southeast side of the island rises the Mausoleum built by the Yugoslavian government in 1940 in memory of the Serbian Soldiers who died in Corfu during the First World War.
Today it is a summer resort.
